Daily Bread Express

Established in 1992 by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, the Daily Bread Express (DBX) provides meal delivery for low-income, home-bound individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Seven nutritious meals are delivered weekly throughout the six-county Portland metro area. Clients need to be referred by a case manager. There is no fee for this service.

Become a Client

To participate in the program meal recipients must meet the following criteria:

    • HIV positive
    • Income below 300 percent of the federal poverty level
    • Specified medical need for home delivery of meals

Volunteer

Daily Bread Express Meal Delivery Driver – Deliver meals to home-bound people with HIV/AIDS who are unable to cook a complete, balanced meal for themselves due to limited resources or physical ability. Volunteers pick up meals on Wednesdays or Thursdays from EMO's Northeast Emergency Food Program (4800 NE 72ndAve., Portland) and deliver them to participants in the Portland metro area.
